Terms of Service

By creating an account on Chat Your Finances ("the Service") you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't sign up.
1. The Service
The Service is a personal-finance assistant: you upload statements, we parse and categorise transactions, and an AI chatbot answers questions about your money. We are not a regulated financial adviser, and the AI's responses are educational and informational only — not financial advice. Decisions about your money are yours.
2. Your account
- You must be 18 or older.
- You are responsible for the security of your account. We strongly recommend enabling two-factor authentication.
- You are responsible for the accuracy of the data you upload. We don't verify documents against issuing institutions.
3. Acceptable use
You may not:
- Use the Service to break the law or process illicit funds.
- Upload another person's financial data without consent.
- Probe, scan, or attempt to circumvent the Service's security or rate limits.
- Reverse-engineer or scrape the Service's APIs at scale, or use them to build a competing product.
- Use automated chat clients to game any free or paid usage tier.
4. Subscriptions and billing
If you opt in to a paid tier, payment is processed by Paystack. Charges renew on the cycle you choose until cancelled. Cancellation stops future renewals; we do not refund the current paid period except where required by law.
5. Data and your rights
Your handling of your data is governed by the Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms.
6. Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. We don't guarantee the Service will be error-free, uninterrupted, or that AI responses will be accurate. You use the Service at your own risk.
7. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim arising from the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim, or KES 1,000, whichever is greater. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages, including lost profits or lost data.
8. Termination
You can close your account at any time from settings. We can suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that we have reasonable grounds to believe pose a security or legal risk. On termination, the deletion process described in the Privacy Policy applies.
9. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Kenya. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of Nairobi unless otherwise required by mandatory consumer-protection law.
10. Changes
We may update these Terms occasionally. Material changes will be announced via email at least seven days before they take effect.
